In electroplating, platinum is often used to plating on titanium, niobium, or stainless steel anodes. Tiaano manufacturer of corrosion-resistant Platinized Titanium anodes and Platinised Niobium Anodes for electroplating applications. Platinum coated (Platinized) Titanium Anodes are highly conductive anodes used in electroplating. Platinized titanium metal anodes are most suitable for wet electro deposition of precious metals like gold, platinum, palladium, chromium, nickel and copper etc.

What is Electro plating?

Electroplating, also known as electrodeposition, involves the deposit of a metal or metal alloy onto the surface of a substrate. An electric current is passed through a liquid that contains dissolved ions of the metal and the substrate. The object serves as a cathode and attracts the metal ions found in the plating bath. A pretreatment process that typically includes cleaning, rinsing and stripping is often employed prior to plating. Common bulk electroplating methods include rack plating, where the parts are affixed to a jig, and barrel plating, where numerous smaller parts are tumbled inside a barrel-shaped cage.

The two are then connected to an electrical current source, by connecting the positive end to the platinum plated anode and the negative to the item being to be plated. Once current flows through the system positively charged metal ions become attracted to the negatively charged item, thereby coating the item with the desired finish.

Advantages of Platinized Titanium Anode in Electro plating:-

          Long operating life; maintenance-free.

Economical due to low platinum requirements.

High dimensional stability and load resistance.

          Good current distribution.

          High corrosion resistance.

          Low weight.
