The majority of electroplating processes today, utilize platinum Plated titanium expanded mesh anodes. These anodes serve two purposes, first of all to act as the supply source for the metallic ions needed for plating, and second to assist in distributing the current being drawn by the plating bath. Platinized titanium expanded mesh anodes allow the escape of gas bubbles forming on active surface. The platinised titanium expanded mesh anode surface serves as a base for the electrocatalytic activation layer.
